"I understand that each time we contemplate with desire and devotion the Host, in which is hidden Christ's Eucharistic Body, we increase our merits in heaven and secure special joys to be ours later in the beatific vision of God."- St. Gertrude
The Corpus Christi Adoration Chapel permits the faithful to adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The chapel is located beside Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church at 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201 and is open continuously except between the hours of 5:00 PM on Saturday to 7:00 PM on Sunday. Please note that, for security reasons, only scheduled adorers or their substitutes are permitted into the chapel between the hours of 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
If you would like to become a perpetual adorer or have any other questions about the Adoration Chapel, please contact the chapel coordinator,
Eucharistic Adoration at Corpus Christi began in the 1970s with
Noctural Adoration, or adoration at night, one weekend a month. In the year 2000, Perpetual Adoration was instituted at the Forty Hours Celebration for the feast of Corpus Christi.
Prayer in the Chapel results in many graces and blessings, not only for us, but also for our families, parishes, diocese and the entire world. Whatever we feel, we are giving of ourselves, we must recognize we cannot out-give God. St. Teresa of Calcutta said that “The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in heaven, and will help bring about everlasting peace on earth."
Please include in your prayers a request that all those called by the Lord to become adorers will respond with a generous heart. Also, spread the good news about the Adoration Chapel among your family and friends and encourage others to become an adorer.
It is a privilege to have Jesus in our midst in the Adoration Chapel.
It is also a privilege to have adorers share in this great blessing. Together, we can look forward to the day when we see him as he truly is in all his Glory.
