Advent is a very specialtime of year. A time in which we look forward to celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. It is also a time to reflect on, prepare for and joyfully await the second coming of Jesus. A time when, if we have lived righteously, we will spend eternity with him in heaven. How do we live righteously and be judged worthy of heaven? We work to fulfill our God given purpose. We rely on the provisions that he gave us and we do that by focusing on the promise that he has made.
What is our purpose – to spread God’s goodness and glory during our life on earth. What provisions has He given us; to guide us and nourish us in life. The Church, the Mass, the sacraments, the sacred scriptures, our free will, our intellect, our time, treasure and talents, etc. What promise has God made to us; for each of us to have life in abundance in this world and to live forever with him in the next.
I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas, a happy, holy and healthy New Year and that throughout your remaining journey of life on earth that you love what God loves, that you reject what God rejects and that you love others as God loves you!
